Dressing down because nothing looked good on me (12 Dec 2023)

I went to the nude beach area of the Murrumbidgee River after work today. My goal was to get nude and not interact with anyone. When I got to the car park and took my shirt off, I could feel the heat of the sun burning my back. I just wore my shorts, took a towel and a drink bottle, and my car key in my pocket. The first bit of flat grassy/sandy area that I came to had two overweight men there, so I walked past about 50m. The walking trail had easy access to the river and a flat pool of water just upstream from some small rapids. I took my gear off and went in. It was quite shallow and rocky but I was able to crawl/swim across the swift flowing water to some stiller water. I lay mostly submerged on a smooth rock with just my face and chest above water. I just lay there and looked at the clouds and blue sky for a bit and thanked God for the day. After a while I crawled onto the rocks, found a smoothish flat rock and lay down in the sun for about 25 min. I prayed for my family and friends, and nodded off briefly. I then swam back across, climbed out of the water and started drying myself off.

An overweight bald man walked by who I hadn’t seen coming along the walking track. I continued to dry myself, and then realised there was a man laying on a towel in the long grass about 5m away. He wasn't there before. He was laying on his back with his legs spread open. I continued drying myself and looking out at the river to see if I could spot the rock where I’d lay down. The bald man walked past again and with the sound of the river, I hadn’t heard him approach. I grabbed my stuff and started back towards the car park. I came to the clearing where the two overweight men were. I walked through confidently, barely noticing them.

As I’d almost left a guy approached me and asked, “Are there many men down that way?”

I stopped and said, “There’s a man laying in the grass, and another guy walked past, other than that I don’t know.”

He asked “You’re a pretty amazing looking man. Were any of them your type?”

I said, “No. But thanks man. Yeah I work out.”

He asked, “What’s your type?”

I said, “Man, I’m just here for myself.”

He asked, “Do you want to lie down in the grass with me?” and he started walking towards me.

I said, “Mate, I was sexually abused as a boy. I don’t want anyone touching me.”

He said, “Oh I’m sorry man. You say that like you’re the boss. No problem. And I didn’t know. I’m sorry.”

I said, “No problem man. You’re not to know.”

He asked, “Mate, you really are exceptional to look at. You’ve got a great ass. Is there some lucky woman back home who appreciates you?”

I said, “Ah, not really.”

He said, “But you like to be seen.”

I said, “Yeah I do.”

He said, “Mind if I follow you and just look at you?”

I said, “Sure” and walked off. Not too much later I turned and he wasn’t following me.

Two other overweight clothed men with beer bottles joined the same path I was on, but behind me. When I got the sign saying, “Nude bathing area”, I stopped and put my shorts on. I then followed the two men who had parked next to my car. I dressed and then read a few messages with my windows down to let the heat out of the car. The men asked for a pen, which I gave them, and then returned. I then drove off.

So mission accomplished: I got nude, had minimal interaction with others, I felt seen by a few men, and not looked at like a piece of meat.
